Massage Therapy: The Hidden Gem of the Healing Arts
To me, there is nothing more healing than getting a massage. The art of touch is something that is downplayed so much in our society. I've been in the healing arts since 2012, and I wholeheartedly know how bodywork has always been the welcome embrace to a genuine reset. Everything I offer in Soul Bloom is what I have found to be personally very effective.
THE ROOTS
In my earlier years, I did Everything to escape my body, and later learned I’m an extremely deep feeler. While living in Hawaii I embarked on a year long yoga journey and found Thai Massage. The 2 went hand in hand-it was true medicine to stretch and clear all the tightness and strain I was experiencing from doing a lot of advanced yoga, which was hard on my body in the beginning. It was life changing to find a lifestyle practice that deeply grounded me with nourishing physical movement and a newfound love for my body. I was often surrounded by bodyworkers throughout my life, which proved to be the exact guidance I was here to embody. The physical safety and emotional release was extremely clear after every single bodywork session.
Reiki was the glue that held me together after going through a very challenging time. This training revealed the way to use my body as a tool for intuition and guidance, hence the ability to “feel” deeply. It was incredible to me how it felt like my soul was literally lifted up, and everything that was out of alignment from my highest self, was simply cleared away. I went on to deepen my training by working with an Ayurvedic Doctor where I learned the art of Marma Massage (accupressure points). These potent points are portals that allow the life force to flow free, clearing stagnant energy to awaken lasting vitality. Fast forward a decade, and I discovered the modality I had always been searching for. Through my 7 year old son. This was the first time the word I was seeking- “unwinding” appeared before me - CFT (craniosacral fascial therapy).
THE STEM THAT LEADS TO THE WEB OF LIGHT
CFT is a gentle approach where you train your hands to “listen” for fascial strain that allows the body to reorganize. The effects are extremely beneficial, and can even take us back to how our body organized itself in the womb. Fascia is the crystalline “web” matrix that holds all memory of everything we have ever experienced, or put another way, fascia holds the “issues in our tissues”. It is a system that utilizes gentle touch to enhance the functioning of the membranes, tissues, fluids, and bones surrounding and associated with the brain and spinal cord. Coupled with myofascial release techniques, the result feels like gentle oceanic waves and the sense that the practitioner truly is being guided by the body’s inherent wisdom.
I completed the advanced infant training and worked on newborn babies. It was profound. So many common complaints in children (and adults) are often misdiagnosed. Stress and depression, anxiety and insomnia, fatigue and migraine, digestive disorders, TMJ & Tinnitus, as well as head, neck and back issues - could all actually be tight fascia. So many maladies, medications, and surgeries can (hopefully) be avoided, simply be giving the body a safe space and hands on healing to unwind and reset. Since receiving my license in massage therapy, I have combined all these modalities into one offering, with the intention of creating a session that is truly transformational on all levels. I enhance each session with my extensive training in energetics & infuse my botanical line of organic oils and salves into a highly personalized approach, one that intuitively Listens to what Your body needs. I often combine sound healing that transcends you into an elevated state to experience lasting bliss.
THE FLOWER
It is my dream that bodyworkers become seen not as luxury but medicine, necessity. It truly addresses physical discomfort & chronic pain, mental overstimulation, emotional burden, energetic realignment, and spiritual insight. It is a complete package for so many modern ailments that truly leaves you feeling completely restored and renewed on all levels. Flowers have been said to be revolutions unto themselves, our very own bodies contain that exact blueprint that can bloom into ultimate beauty when cared for with loving touch and appreciation. The body is one of the most incredible miracles we get to experience on a daily basis.
Being a massage therapist has taught me the importance of filling my cup first. Find the ways to pour healing into yourself. Complete the circle of giving and receiving. Treat yourself to experience the hidden gems of the holistic world.
